What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal uses laser energy to produce long-term hair reduction. A laser beam passes through the skin to the hair follicle, damaging it, and inhibiting further growth.
How many treatments will I need?
6-12 treatments at 4-6 week intervals are required for maximum results. Follow up treatments are recommended as well.
How can I prepare for treatment?
It’s important to stay out of the sun and away from tanning booths (and even spray tans) before the procedure. Shave the area to be treated 1-24 hours prior to the appointment. Do not use any lotion on the area to be treated on the day of the appointment.
What are the side effects and risks?
Results depend on the color and location of hair follicles. Often, not much change in the amount of hair or hair regrowth will be noticed after the first few treatments. 5% of the population does not respond to laser hair reduction. Hyperpigmentation (darkening), hypopigmentation (lightening) and scarring are possible risks of this procedure, but are rare.
